Hauser celebrates cowboy culture in upcoming campaign ahead of ‘Yellowstone’ spin-off.

Cole Hauser Reflects on “Yellowstone” Spin-off at PBR Finals

Cole Hauser recently shared his thoughts about the upcoming “Yellowstone” spin-off while attending the Professional Bull Riding (PBR) Finals in Arlington, Texas. The 50-year-old actor expressed his excitement about this new chapter, emphasizing his appreciation for American cowboy culture.

Hauser addressed rumors about the show’s title, clarifying that it will not be called “Dutton Ranch.” He hesitated to disclose any official title, but he assured fans that the essence of the series would remain intact. “We can expect the same things we’ve done for the past seven years,” he remarked, noting the collaboration with co-star Kelly Reilly to create something special.

The series is set to explore Rip Wheeler’s journey, a character Hauser has portrayed since “Yellowstone” began. This role has seen Rip evolve from a troubled youth—who, under John Dutton’s guidance, commits acts of violence—to a complex man grappling with his darker impulses while also showing a tender side, especially towards Beth Dutton, played by Reilly.

Reflecting on his character’s popularity, Hauser recounted his surprise at how much fans connected with Rip, particularly women. He initially thought, “What’s wrong with you?” when receiving such admiration. However, he later recognized the nuances that make Rip an interesting and, dare he say, lovable character.

Yet, Hauser doesn’t shy away from discussing Rip’s darker traits. “What makes him special is that he has an incredible heart,” he said, juxtaposing that with Rip’s violent tendencies. This kind of complexity, he believes, is what draws viewers in.

On a personal note, Hauser’s dedication to horseback riding has intensified due to his role. He described the rigorous training process, often joking about “saddle time” and the initial discomfort that comes with it. He highlighted how working with talented trainers has improved his skills, a fact that he’s genuinely proud of.

In addition to acting, he has taken on creative roles behind the camera, notably in the new PBR brand campaign titled “Be Cowboy.” This project emphasizes that being a cowboy isn’t just about the appearance; it’s rooted in heart and lifestyle.

At 50, Hauser feels fortunate to continue engaging with what he loves, stating that the essence of cowboy culture represents an important part of American identity. “There’s an incredible character element here to see this still exists in our country,” he remarked, alluding to the values he finds appealing in the cowboy lifestyle.

As fans eagerly await the spin-off, Hauser’s enthusiasm and commitment to his craft underscore his deep connection to both his character and the rich tradition he represents in the series.
