Sex sells.
The young woman, who became famous as the “Hawk Tua Girl” thanks to her X-rated interviews, has already sold more than $65,000 in merchandise.
Haley Welch, who made waves earlier this month after sharing her candid thoughts about oral sex in a Tim & Dee TV spot for women on the street, now sells her own line of hats through Tennessee-based clothing company Fathead Threads. According to the company’s social media.
The brand has already sold more than 2,000 “Hawk Tua ’24” hats, owner Jason Poteet said. He told Rolling Stone magazine.
With $32.78 per hat, plus an additional $50 for the sold-out autographed version, the total price is at least $65,000.
“Obviously, she never made a penny from that initial viral video,” said Poet, who claims to have known Welch for years.
“Nobody was asking her permission to do nothing. I just wanted her to benefit from the deal,” he said.
Welch said she was “overwhelmed” by her newfound fame and had asked Poteat not to reveal her personal information or have her face appear on any products.
“Our largest order is usually 100 hats and 150 to 250 shirts, which is out of the ordinary for us,” Poteat said. “This is a small, family-run store. It’s all hands on deck right now.”
He declined to say what share of the profits Welch would receive.
Welch is She was originally rumored to have signed with Hollywood’s United Talent Agency. – She is also working on trademarking the now-infamous phrase, he said.
“There are crazy people out there who have reached out to her,” he says, “and she’s probably one of the most famous people in the world at the moment, but I don’t know if she’s accepted it.”
