The House Subcommittee was holding a monitoring, investigation and accountability hearing, fraud and abuse hearings at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under the Biden administration on Tuesday, March 11th.
The hearing entitled “Eliminating waste, fraud and abuse at the Department of Homeland Security: Addressing the Biden-Harris Administration's failures” examines the agency's disastrous performance under Biden's DHS Secretary, Alejandro Mallorcas.
Mallorcas oversaw historical illegal immigration under his watch and oversaw two attempts to assassinate Donald Trump. The Secret Service, which falls under the DHS direction, has been criticized for multiple failures in the shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania, which injured Trump and two rallysers and left one dead.
Mallorcas was fired each by the House in 2024 for “deliberately and systematically refusing to comply with the law,” but Chuck Schumer (D-NY), the representative leader of the time, dismissed the charges without the Senate having a vote.
