Hecklers Disrupt AOC’s Green New Deal Town Hall

Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) was accused of prioritizing illegal immigrants over her own constituents Thursday at the Green New Deal City Hall in Queens.

As the lawmaker touted the supposed benefits of the climate change bill, two people in the audience, including a Republican running for a House seat, began heckling her.

“My name is Jonathan David Rinaldi and I’m running for Congress against AOC. The Green New Deal is a fraud,” one man shouted. “They’re giving away NYCHA apartments and giving $10,000 a day to illegal aliens…AOC, I want you to debate me, I want you to debate me.”

NYCHA refers to the New York City Housing Authority, which manages the city’s public housing projects. Rinaldi told Fox News that the local politician said: prioritize It’s immigrants, not residents, who want apartments.

Video recorded by a participant shows the moment another man also stands up and begins shouting, “Secure the border now!”

As Ocasio-Cortez’s supporters tried to drown out the jeers with “AOC” chants, a second man yelled, “I never said a word about violent Venezuelan immigrants or illegal immigrants.” Ta.

He went on to mention the attack on NYPD officers by a violent immigrant group in January. be released from prison without bail.

“You don’t care, all you care about is illegal aliens and their votes. You don’t care about voters,” the second man continued. “That’s all you care about. You’re a disgrace.”

Ocasio-Cortez smiled as security approached Rinaldi to remove her from the venue.

“Each one of us is being sold out by the people who brought illegal aliens here to vote,” the parliamentary candidate shouted as he was led away.

“You’re just representing illegal aliens,” he said to the lawmakers.

“Well, obviously not. I’m an elected official, so good luck, brother,” Ocasio-Cortez responded.

After removing the two hecklers from the event, she went on to say that her base “clearly supports progressive immigration policies that welcome all of our neighbors.”

We unequivocally support a path to citizenship, and we unequivocally support an end to harsh immigration policies. That’s why you…support my representatives who represent our community in Congress. Because we’ve had enough.

We have seen anti-immigrant voices in this country that are very, very loud, but they are in very small numbers, and we look around and we support our neighbors and substantially We need to recognize how many people here are aware of the fact that immigrants are not welcome. We are all descendants of immigrants, indigenous peoples, and slaves.

Outside the event, Rinaldi continued his rant about immigration and NYCHA.

“They just fired all the supermen at NYCHA… so the building goes into chaos, so they can come in with Section 8,” he claimed.
