Celebrity couples bring their Halloween costumes to life

Halloween costumes are often more fun when couples coordinate, and celebrities have made a tradition of going all-in. Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz regularly disappear beneath elaborate prosthetics, while Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. have looked to beloved films for inspiration.

Klum, often called the Queen of Halloween, is known for making a grand entrance at her annual party. In 2025, she transformed into Medusa, complete with green scaled prosthetics, a long tail, fake teeth and a crown of moving snakes. Kaulitz played a warrior turned to stone.

Klum has said she prefers to keep her costume under wraps until the red carpet reveal. She likes people to see it for the first time and make up their own minds, rather than building expectations beforehand.

The year before, Klum and Kaulitz took inspiration from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. Kaulitz wore a take on the alien’s familiar look, while Klum dressed as the disguised version from the film, with a blonde wig, black hat and red shawl. Klum has shared that watching the movie as a child in Germany first got her thinking about life beyond Earth.

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco also stepped into a storybook world for Halloween in 2024, dressing as Alice and the Mad Hatter. Gomez wore a blue dress, white socks and a blonde wig. Blanco added a colorful shirt, brown jacket, oversized top hat and orange wig, with white makeup to complete his look.

Paris Hilton paid tribute to Britney Spears’s “Toxic” music video at a 2023 Halloween party. Hilton wore a shiny blue flight-attendant outfit, silver boots and sunglasses, while her husband, Carter Reum, dressed as an airline pilot.

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker went for a spooky movie-inspired look in 2023, dressing as Lydia Deetz and Beetlejuice. Kardashian wore a red dress with lace details and carried a bouquet of roses. Barker’s costume featured green hair, a burgundy suit and pale makeup with dark circles around his eyes.

Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber went the rock-star route in 2018, portraying David Bowie and Debbie Harry. Gerber wore a Union Jack coat, a spiky orange wig and Bowie’s signature red lightning bolt painted across his face. Crawford paired a yellow T-shirt dress with ripped tights, heeled boots and a blonde wig.

Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin dressed as Lucy and Ricky Ricardo from I Love Lucy. Rinna wore a red wig, a polka-dot dress and a white apron, and struck a pose reminiscent of Lucy’s familiar expressions. Hamlin stood beside her in a suit, giving the camera a raised eyebrow and a serious look.

Gellar and Prinze have returned to movie-inspired costumes more than once. In 2019, they dressed as Marty McFly and Doc Brown from Back to the Future. Gellar wore a red puffer vest, jeans and a button-up shirt, and carried a skateboard. Prinze wore a white jumpsuit, gloves, goggles and a messy white wig.

The couple also recreated a moment from Dirty Dancing, with Gellar as Baby Houseman and Prinze as Johnny Castle. Gellar wore denim shorts and a cropped white shirt, while Prinze opted for black pants and a tank top.

Former couple Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes once dressed as Sandy and Danny from Grease for Klum’s Halloween party. Ballerini wore black leather pants, a matching jacket and red heels, with curled hair and red lipstick. Stokes completed the greaser look in black, including a jacket marked with the T-Birds name.

Molly Sims arrived at a 2019 Halloween party dressed as Jeannie from I Dream of Jeannie, wearing pink pants, a cropped top with red velvet sleeves and a blonde wig styled in a high bun. Her husband, Scott Stuber, joined in as Jeannie’s love interest, astronaut Tony Nelson.
