Donald Trump is leading not only in opinion polls but also in approval ratings.

Sen. John Barrasso, the No. 3 Senate Republican, endorsed Trump on Tuesday night.

Politico reported:

Sen. John Barrasso, the No. 3 Senate Republican, endorsed former President Donald Trump on Tuesday, becoming the highest-ranking Republican senator to back Trump's 2024 presidential bid.

“If we want to get the country back on the right track, which is what I want, we need a strong, Republican, conservative House and Senate. And we're going to put Donald Trump back in the White House. We need to,” Barrasso (R-Wyo.) said Tuesday night on Fox News’ “Hannity.”

Barrasso's endorsement of Trump is a significant development for Senate Republicans. First, Mr. Barrasso is the second member of the elected leadership to support Mr. Trump. Campaign manager Steve Daines (R-Mont.) endorsed Trump last year to help coordinate nominations in key Senate races.

The Senate Republican Conference chair's endorsement of the former president formally establishes him as the most pro-Trump senior Republican in the chamber as new leadership takes over in the coming years. Among the Senate Republicans, candidates to succeed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell include Senate Minority Whip John Thune (R.S.D.), former Whip John Cornyn (R., Texas); Mr. Barrasso is considered the likely candidate.

Barrasso becomes the 20th Senate Republican to support Donald Trump.

The Washington Examiner reported:

Barrasso's announcement during a Fox News appearance Tuesday evening made him the 20th Republican senator to endorse Trump in the Republican primary. Mr. Barrasso is the No. 3 Senate Republican and the most senior supporter Mr. Trump has in the Senate as conference chairman.

In addition to Barrasso and Daines, other Republican senators who supported Trump include Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), Sen. Mike Braun (R-Ind.), and Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ind.). , Alabama), Sen. Ted Budd (R-North Carolina), and Sen. Kevin Kevin. Cramer (R-North Dakota), Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas), Lindsey Graham (R-South Carolina), Bill Hagerty (R-TN), Josh Hawley (R-Missouri), John Hoeven (R-North Dakota), Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Michigan), Roger Marshall (R-Kansas), Markwayne Mullin (R-Oklahoma), Eric Schmidt (R-Missouri) , Rick Scott (R-FL), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), J.D. Vance (R-OH), and Roger Wicker (R-MI).

In total, they represent 20 of the 49 Senate Republicans.

President Trump thanked them for their support.
