A high school senior was shot to death by her older DJ boyfriend on her way to a homecoming dance in Louisiana, authorities said, in an apparent suicide.
Dasheila Ardoin, 17, and Glenkathan Robertson, 21, were found dead of gunshot wounds in a car on their way to Mamou just after 7pm on Saturday. This was announced by the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office.
“Based on the investigation, this incident appears to be a homicide/suicide,” the sheriff's office said in a statement.
Authorities believe Robertson was the shooter, but the motive behind the killing is not yet known. Sheriff KP Gibson told the People.
It is understood they were heading to Ardoin's homecoming dance at Mamou High School, Gibson added.
There were no other passengers in the vehicle at the time and no one was injured, the sheriff's office said.
Ardoin's high school posted a touching tribute on Facebook, saying they would return to class the next day “without our own students.”

“Dasheira will forever be remembered for her bravery and bravery, kind heart and beautiful smile. She was much loved and will be greatly missed,” the high school said. I wrote.
Robertson's social media shows he worked as a DJ. A photo of him and Ardoin posted on his Instagram was captioned, “Me and you to the world.”
This incident is still under investigation.
