Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, expressed high regard for former President Donald Trump during a conversation with podcaster Joe Rogan. He described Trump’s thoughts as quite realistic and common sense, noting that the president’s energy policies played a crucial role in advancing the AI sector. Huang emphasized, “If you don’t have energy growth, you can’t have industrial growth. That’s what has saved the AI industry.”
Huang remarked on Trump’s unique approach, saying, “He surprised me. First of all, he’s an incredibly good listener. He remembers almost everything I say to him.” Rogan chimed in, suggesting that negative portrayals of Trump often dominate the narrative. Huang acknowledged this, stating, “Part of his charm, part of his genius, is that he speaks his mind.”
Rogan agreed, adding that Trump’s straightforward communication style resembles that of an anti-politician. Huang affirmed this, insisting, “What’s in his head is what he’s thinking, and he believes what he says.”
They shared a light moment, with Rogan joking that some might prefer dishonesty, to which Huang replied, “Yeah, but I like the fact that he’s saying what he’s thinking.” The Nvidia CEO elaborated on this, saying, “You can hear his love for America in everything he explains. His thoughts are practical, rooted in common sense and logic.”
Huang further commended Trump’s pro-growth energy policies for revitalizing the AI industry. He concluded, “Without energy growth, you can’t have industrial growth. If you don’t have that, job growth falters. It’s that simple.” Huang reiterated that Trump’s initial call to “Drill, baby, drill” underscored the necessity of energy growth for industrial expansion, essential for the AI field.
He made it clear, “Without his pro-growth energy policies, we wouldn’t be able to build AI factories, chip factories, or supercomputer factories. None of this would be possible.”
