Hillary Clinton Hypes Kamala Harris: ‘Brilliant Prosecutor’

Former first lady and two-time failed Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton praised Vice President Kamala Harris as a “terrific prosecutor” in a Facebook post on Monday after President Joe Biden announced he was ending his reelection campaign and endorsing Harris for the 2024 presidential election.

“I have known Kamala Harris for a long time,” Clinton began in her Facebook post. “This outstanding prosecutor will bring the case against convicted felon Donald Trump and his Project 2025 plan to take away our freedoms.”

Clinton then called on her Facebook followers to get involved in Harris’ presidential campaign.

Regarding Project 2025, President Trump said in his July 5 speech: Authentic Social Posts He said he had “no connection to them” and “no idea who is behind it.”

“I don’t know anything about Project 2025. I don’t know who’s behind it,” Trump said. “I don’t agree with some of the things they say, and some of the things they say are totally ridiculous and terrible. I wish them the best of luck in whatever they do, but I have nothing to do with them.”

Clinton’s praise for Harris as a prosecutor was a reference to the legal battles former President Trump faced this year in the lead-up to the July 13 assassination attempt on him in Butler, Pennsylvania.

But not everyone sees Harris’ history as a prosecutor as a positive thing.

During a 2020 Democratic primary debate, then-Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) said she was “deeply concerned” about Harris’ desire to be a “prosecutor president,” noting that she had “incarcerated more than 1,500 people for marijuana violations” and “blocked evidence that would have freed an innocent man from death row.”

“Senator Harris is proud of her record as a prosecutor and has said she would be a prosecutor president, but I have deep concerns about that record,” Gabbard said in 2020.

“Among other examples, she sent over 1,500 people to prison for marijuana offenses, then laughed when asked if she had ever smoked marijuana,” Gabbard continued. “She concealed evidence that would have freed an innocent man from death row until a court forced her to do so.”

“She fought to preserve a cash bail system that keeps people in prison beyond their sentences to be used as cheap labor for the state of California and that worst impacts poor people,” Gabbard added.
