Hillary Clinton met with student protests during visit to alma mater Wellesley College: ‘Blood on her hands’

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton faced student protests Saturday while visiting her alma mater, Wellesley College.

Clinton returned to campus for the honor of having a university building named after her. At a women-led democracy summit on campus that Clinton also attended, protesters lined up to harass participants.

Local news outlets said angry students distributed pamphlets on campus claiming that Clinton was Wellesley’s “best-loved war criminal” and that she had “blood on her hands.” .

School administrators acknowledged the protests but did not condemn them.

“We encourage everyone who participates in activities to follow our demonstration policies and to be mindful of the Student Code of Conduct to keep themselves and our community safe,” Vice President and Dean of Students Sheila Shaw Houghton said in a statement. ” he said.

Clinton is no stranger to facing protests during visits to U.S. universities. She was repeatedly interrupted by protesters during her appearance at Columbia University in February, and her students called her a “war criminal.”
