Clinton Endorses Flanagan for Senate

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has officially endorsed Minnesota’s Lt. Governor, Peggy Flanagan, as a candidate for the U.S. Senate in the upcoming 2026 midterm elections. This marks Clinton’s first endorsement in this particular race.

In a post on the social media platform Bluesky, Clinton urged Minnesota voters to “select an extraordinary person and public servant” as their next senator. She emphasized the importance of the moment, asking them to seize the opportunity.

In her response, Flanagan expressed gratitude for Clinton’s endorsement, highlighting the former Secretary’s long-standing commitment to advocating for working families. Flanagan noted that she aims to continue Clinton’s fight for equity and justice in her potential new role. “I’m honored to have Secretary Clinton’s support,” Flanagan stated in her post.

Clinton, who served as First Lady and was a U.S. senator from New York, has a deep history in politics, including her candidacy for president in 2016, where she faced off against Donald Trump.

Reflecting on Trump’s policies, Clinton criticized him for making life more difficult for families, particularly regarding childcare, groceries, and healthcare costs. She pointed out that his decisions have led to increased prices and detrimental cuts to assistance programs.

As Flanagan campaigns for the Senate, she is up against Republican candidate Michele Tafoya. The race has already garnered a lot of attention, especially following Senator Tina Smith’s announcement that she will not be seeking re-election.
