Homan Advises Americans to Get Ready for Increased Border Patrol Operations in More Major Cities

Increased Immigration Enforcement Efforts Announced

On Friday, Border Patrol Agent Tom Homan shared on Fox News that immigration enforcement activities will be ramped up nationwide, as Border Patrol extends its operations beyond usual regions.

The Trump administration plans to deploy large teams of Border Patrol agents to cities like Charlotte and New Orleans for upcoming immigration operations. During his appearance on “The Will Cain Show,” Homan explained that the shift in focus for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) mirrors new priorities.

“We’re moving into many cities, but I must clarify: ICE Director Todd Lyons oversees domestic enforcement. The Border Patrol is doing an excellent job for us,” Homan commented. “Over the last four years, ICE has dispatched thousands of personnel to the border to support Border Patrol when they are inundated. Thanks to President Trump, our border is now the most secure it has ever been.”

Homan emphasized that the government must look to Border Patrol for added support to ICE operations in urban areas.

“With 10.5 million undocumented individuals at the border due to President Biden’s policies, we need their assistance now. Not to mention the 15 million who are already here,” Homan continued.

He mentioned that the administration’s enforcement initiatives will quickly intensify. “We’re hiring 10,000 new agents, and they will be activated monthly. Expect to see more operations in larger cities, especially in sanctuary cities, since that poses our greatest challenge. Public safety risks are increasing daily, and we’re aware of that. So, more activity is coming to major cities across the country,” Homan stated.

Under President Donald Trump, border crossings have greatly decreased. His administration imposed a four-month suspension on immigration parole, leading to a 93% drop in apprehensions at the southern border compared to the average under the Biden administration, as per Customs and Border Protection (CBP) statistics. This decline is a significant turnaround from the situation during former President Biden’s term, when monthly illegal entries peaked in the tens of thousands, with the Border Patrol in May and June 2024 alone apprehending nearly 90,000 migrants, according to CBP records.

The shift began immediately after Trump resumed office and reinstated strict enforcement measures. He signed executive orders to continue the construction of the border wall, deploy military resources to the southern border, halt refugee admissions, and implement steps to end birthright citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants.
