Tom Homan, who was President Trump’s top official for border issues, strongly criticized Hunter Biden over comments made regarding ICE’s enforcement actions. In a recent interview with YouTuber Andrew Callaghan, Hunter expressed frustration about the impact of illegal immigration.
“You know, how do you think your hotel room gets cleaned? Who do you think gives you the food on your table?” he remarked, adding a rather emphatic tone to his points.
In response, Homan not only challenged Hunter’s views but also took aim at the former president, accusing both of mishandling border issues. He expressed disbelief over Hunter’s statements, suggesting that the realities of the current situation are being ignored. “It’s not just incompetence; it’s intentional,” Homan claimed, referencing the number of people crossing the border and the rise in illegal activities.
He highlighted alarming statistics, including increases in sex trafficking and drug-related deaths, specifically mentioning the over 500,000 Americans who have died from fentanyl. Homan pointed out that more than 400 wanted individuals were apprehended at the border, emphasizing how these issues seem to be escalating.
According to Homan, the current administration is failing to address the surge of individuals with criminal backgrounds in the country. “We’re trying to locate these criminals and national security threats,” he noted, contrasting this with what he described as Trump’s successful border policies that, in his view, were quickly implemented.
Furthermore, Todd Lyons, a proxy director for ICE, echoed Homan’s sentiments, finding Biden’s criticism of ICE’s operations to be misguided. “It’s absurd. The challenges we face today have roots in previous administrations, notably under Presidents Obama and Biden,” he argued, implying that illegal immigration has become more normalized because of past policies.
