Crackdown on Protesters by Border Officials

During a recent appearance, Tom Homan, a prominent figure in border security, issued strong warnings regarding President Donald Trump’s strict enforcement policies aimed at protesters engaged in violence against immigrants.

On the program Sunday Morning Futures, Homan stated, “If you throw a stone, you go to jail. If you touch an ICE officer, you go to jail. Threaten online or in person, you’ll face jail time.” These comments came in collaboration with guest host Jason Chaffetz, who highlighted the intensified actions of the Trump administration, indicating that federal prosecutors nationwide have been directed to pursue such cases rigorously.

Homan accused Democrats of perpetuating “fake” narratives concerning ICE following confrontations between agents and protestors in California. However, he made it clear that while peaceful demonstrations are protected under the First Amendment, any harmful behavior would not be accepted.

He mentioned that the administration is taking proactive steps to uncover those funding violent protests. Homan emphasized that anyone involved in such actions would be held responsible and face legal repercussions.

Addressing anti-ICE demonstrators directly, he challenged them. He pointed out that there is an ongoing effort to track down the financial backers supporting violence, asserting that these individuals will also be subject to legal action.

His statements came amidst the backdrop of heightened public attention around anti-ICE protests in Portland and recent criminal enforcement initiatives launched by the Trump administration in other troubled cities, such as Chicago and Baltimore.

Homan openly criticized politicians who liken ICE to Nazis or terrorists, questioning, “If ICE is deemed racist for enforcing the law, then what does that imply about the lawmakers?” He urged Congress to do its job and address these laws directly if they disapprove of ICE’s actions. The implication is clear: accountability lies within legislative processes.
