Homan responds to Ocasio-Cortez’s caution about a ‘problem’ if Democrats face arrests: ‘You can’t scare me’

Tom Homan, President Trump’s border chief, expressed that if Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) were to fire him, he would encounter “problems.” This statement came as he continues to arrest Democrats.

Homan remarked on Tuesday that Ocasio-Cortez has not shown appreciation towards immigration officers for ensuring safety in her district.

“You can’t intimidate me. Seriously, give me a break. I was enforcing the law long before she was even born,” he stated. “I’ve served under six presidents and witnessed various policies succeed and fail. But it’s undeniable that the Trump administration’s approach to border security has been effective.”

Defending the administration’s immigration policies, Homan claimed they have created “the safest border in U.S. history.”

“From the very beginning, and she knows this, you can’t support ice and still maintain your credibility. Supporting sanctuary cities and obstructing law enforcement is a felony,” he insisted. “You cannot shield illegal aliens from ICE agents; that’s against the law, as is trespassing.”

His remarks came shortly after several New Jersey lawmakers, including Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman and Rob Menendez, along with Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, protested outside an ICE facility. The mayor was arrested earlier this month but released subsequently.

Homeland Security Secretary Christy Noem has urged House members to denounce these officials, alleging they incited tensions during the protest. Watson Coleman fiercely disputed Noem’s accusations.

A passionate New York politician labeled Noem’s suggestion as a “public threat,” stating, “If there’s any illegal action here, it’s by the Department of Homeland Security, not a member of Congress. It’s individuals like Tom Homan and Secretary Noem.”

Homan has previously taken aim at Ocasio-Cortez, stating that the Trump administration has contributed more to the safety of her district in Queens and the Bronx than she has.

“This administration has done more to secure her area than she has,” he told CNN, adding that the number of criminal aliens removed from New York streets has improved safety in her community. “She ought to appreciate the efforts of the ICE agents representing this administration.”
