Homan says having US-born children does not make people ‘immune’ from deportation

Border Emperor Tom Homan highlighted the Trump administration’s deportation efforts, saying having a US-born child doesn’t “immunize people” from deportation.

“Having a US citizen’s child cannot immunize you from the laws of our country,” Homan said on CBS News, “Facing the People.” “American families are separated daily by law enforcement.”

A federal judge erked alarm a few days ago after lawyers accused the Trump administration of deporting a two-year-old US citizen without a “meaningful process.”

The child was deported along with his sister and mother. It was discovered that my sister and mother were illegally in the country. Her father filed a petition for release.

A hearing on the issue is scheduled for May 16th in Louisiana.

Homan defended the deportation decision and said that if they put their children in such a situation, it would be with their parents.

“Giving birth to a child of a US citizen after you enter the country illegally is not about getting out of the free prison card,” he said.

He also claimed that the mother of the child took her with her when she was deported and called it “parenting 101.”

Host Margaret Brennan noted that the father who filed the petition tried to make arrangements to secure the child, but they were only given a short phone call. Homan pushed back Brennan’s notes and cut off the interview.

“It’s a parent’s decision. It’s not a government decision. It’s a parent’s decision,” he said.
