Tom Homan Warns of Potential Violence Due to Anti-ICE Rhetoric

Tom Homan, who serves as President Trump’s border czar, expressed concern on Thursday that continued anti-ICE rhetoric from Democrats could lead to increased violence. He voiced this warning during an appearance on “Faulkner Focus,” highlighting that there are already indications of rising threats.

“I’ve never seen anything like this,” he remarked, noting a staggering increase of over 1,000% in attacks against ICE agents. “This hateful rhetoric has to be addressed. Back in March, I cautioned that if it persisted, we would see bloodshed—and sadly, that has indeed happened.”

Referencing recent incidents, Homan pointed to a death in an attack on a Border Patrol facility in Texas and a shooting at an ICE location, stating, “It’s not going to stop. We must halt this hateful discourse if we want to prevent further bloodshed.”

His comments emerge amidst increasing pushback from Democratic leaders, as the Trump administration continues its anti-immigration and anti-crime policies across the country.

In a related note, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker have consistently resisted federal intervention aimed at addressing crime and the apprehension of undocumented immigrants. They believe the Trump administration has excessively extended federal powers, disrupting local governance and communities.

Pritzker, in a speech last month, described the ongoing efforts not as focusing on “public safety” or “immigration,” but rather as a continuation of a “war on the poor.” He even drew a parallel to early Nazi actions in Germany, suggesting a need for caution. “I’m not suggesting we are necessarily heading in the same direction, but it’s quite unsettling,” he added.

Homan’s warnings and the responses from local officials reflect the ongoing tensions surrounding immigration policies and federal enforcement measures.
