Honduran immigrant charged with drugging, sexually assaulting woman at NJ eatery now wanted by ICE officials

A Honduras immigrant, who owns a restaurant in New Jersey, was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in a Portuguese-style restaurant and is now being sought by federal immigrants.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, 36-year-old Carlos Elazo Caballero was charged with first-degree sexual assault in an October 2024 incident at Stephanie's BBQ IV in Newark, a local outlet reported.

Honduras citizen, Elizabeth, was arrested on February 5th, prison records show.

The prosecutors did not provide additional information regarding the alleged assault to protect the victim's identity; Reported by NJ Advance Media.

Prosecutors said he is expected to be arrested by US immigration and customs enforcement, and there are prison records showing federal agencies placing detainees on him.
