Hooters has closed dozens of locations as inflation continues to weigh on people and businesses in President Joe Biden’s America.
Hooters spokesperson Said of New York Post “Like many restaurants feeling pressured by current market conditions, Hooters has made the difficult decision to close certain restaurants,” the company said Monday.
The company has closed about 40 of its 300 stores worldwide but has reopened them to consumers in the U.S. and around the world, and is selling its frozen meals on grocery store shelves.
In May, an analysis found that inflation, the rising cost of living and post-coronavirus lockdown conditions are making it difficult for American restaurants to stay open, Breitbart News reported.
While visits to full-service restaurants across the U.S. fell about 5% from 2022, coffee shop customer numbers surged by roughly the same percentage, according to third-quarter 2023 data.
As people returned to in-person work after the pandemic shutdowns, they ordered more fast-casual food and drinks but spent less money actually sitting down somewhere to eat.
As fast-food prices rise under the Biden administration, McDonald’s recently relaunched its $5 meal combo menu to help struggling customers and keep its restaurants open, Breitbart News reported Saturday.
The cost of food also influences the political climate.
“Prices of all goods and services have increased by an average of about 20 percent across the board, hurting Biden’s chances of reelection,” the report said.A Monmouth University poll conducted this week found that 87% of Americans believe Trump’s policies have had either a negative or no effect on inflation, making it the No. 1 issue among respondents.
On Tuesday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed that grocery prices had fallen under Biden’s leadership, but a fact-check by Breitbart News found the claim to be false.
Karine Jean-Pierre:
“Food prices were going up, but now they’re down!”
(Food prices have risen by more than 20% since Biden took office.)
“Gasoline prices have dropped!”

The media pointed out:
“Food prices rose 6.3% in 2021 and 10.4% in 2022. Food price increases slowed in 2023, with the index rising 2.7%,” TheStreet said. report.
Looking at it objectively, Yahoo! News report “A grocery basket that cost $100 in November 2020 would now cost $125.80.”
The report also said that while inflation is slowing, prices continue to rise.
Social media users were quick to comment on Jean-Pierre’s claims. write“It’s ridiculous. If there’s one thing people don’t realize, it’s how much more we’ve paid for food and gas since Biden took office.”
“It doesn’t say that on my grocery bill,” another user said. Commented.
