Host Questions KJP About Biden’s Fitness to Be President at This Time

CNN Anchor Questions Karine Jean-Pierre on Biden’s Cognitive Health

During a segment on Friday, CNN anchor Brianna Keillor pressed former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about her stance on former President Joe Biden’s cognitive health. Reports have suggested that Biden experienced dementia during his presidency, yet Jean-Pierre has often minimized these claims. Keillor, who co-authored a book on Biden’s deterioration with fellow CNN anchor Jake Tapper, noted that Cabinet members found Biden’s reliability questionable during late-night crises and mentioned an incident where he didn’t recognize actor George Clooney at a fundraiser.

“So we’re discussing 2023 or 2024. Why weren’t you concerned?” Keillor probed. “Why didn’t you bring it up?”

Jean-Pierre responded, “I had no concerns. I saw him daily, Brianna. We interacted every day.”

While she conceded that Biden had “showed his age,” she firmly asserted that he remained “sharp.” She emphasized, “This is a president who imposed his staff and adhered to policy. Furthermore, let’s remember, he was leading the coalition regarding what we’ve witnessed in decades—the war in Ukraine. There was a lot at stake.”

As Jean-Pierre continued to defend Biden’s accomplishments and his mental acuity, Keillor interrupted, indicating that she wasn’t addressing the core question.

“Do you believe he should still be president? Does he possess the capability to fulfill that role?” Keillor asked. “That’s what you’ve stated—he’ll be in this position until 2029.”

Jean-Pierre reiterated her viewpoint: “I didn’t observe anything that gave me cause for concern when he opted to run for president. I didn’t. He was prominent in handling policies. He was sharp and truly understood the issues that mattered to the American public.”

In addition to the existing concerns about Biden’s mental capacity, his office revealed in May that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. However, medical professionals suggested shortly after that he likely had the illness throughout his presidency.
