House Republicans invite Nathan Wade to ‘interview’ with Judiciary committee regarding Trump election case

House Republicans have invited attorney Nathan Wade to interview with the House Judiciary Committee regarding the lawyer’s role in the election interference case against former President Trump.

Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) announced the invitation on Thursday, saying Mr. Wade’s role in the case was too important “without question.” Mr. Wade was appointed by Fulton County Prosecutor Fannie Willis to prosecute the case against Mr. Trump. The decision sparked intense controversy as it was later revealed that the two were in a relationship and that Willis may have misused state funds.

“We have serious concerns about your role in the politically motivated prosecution initiated by Ms. Willis against President Donald J. Trump. You reportedly ‘benefited significantly’ from Ms. Willis’ prosecution. “And there are unsealed court filings alleging that he was paid “nearly $700,000 after May 2022,” Jordan’s invitation states.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Fulton County Prosecutor’s Office for comment, but did not immediately receive a response.

Jordan’s letter asks Wade or his attorney to respond by May 16 at the latest.

The Georgia election interference case is one of four lawsuits against the former president. Mr. Trump’s lawyers have launched an effort to have Mr. Willis removed from the case, citing allegations that he misappropriated funds and withheld information about his relationship with Mr. Wade.

The Georgia Court of Appeals agreed to hear Mr. Trump’s request to appeal an earlier court ruling that kept Mr. Willis in custody.
