A Houston, Texas man fatally shot his autistic brother before turning the gun on himself in an apparent suicide, authorities said.
Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff's Office responded to a home in the 15100 block of Ella Boulevard. Monday morning, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
Arriving officers determined that the 22-year-old man shot and killed his 24-year-old brother, then shot himself.

The brothers' mother, who was home at the time of the incident, told the sheriff she heard a commotion coming from one of her sons' bedrooms before finding them dead.
The 22-year-old shooter has a history of mental health issues, Gonzalez said.

“Sad deal. The shooting appears to be a murder-suicide involving two brothers,” the sheriff wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
This incident is still under investigation.
