Knicks Prepare for Crucial Matchup Against Heat

The Knicks see their upcoming game against the Heat in Miami as a significant chance to gear up for the postseason.

This marks the third encounter between the Knicks and the Heat within the first 13 games, and it’s also their second matchup in just a few days.

“Competing against the same team over a couple of days serves as a solid warm-up for the playoffs,” Karl-Anthony Towns shared after practice on Sunday. “We’ve got to ensure we’re prepared to adapt, and, honestly, it’s important for the coaching staff to adjust based on what we revealed in the last game. Playing in a style similar to a playoff series is beneficial for us. We played them two days ago, and now we face them again in their arena. This creates a momentum shift like you’d see in Games 2, 3, 4, and 5 of a playoff series. It’s good practice for our team.”

The Knicks have split their previous two matches, each winning on their home court.

“Honestly, we already have a bit of familiarity from our earlier games,” Josh Hart commented. “Adjustments are needed, though. Coach Spoelstra is going to analyze and prep his team. The last game was incredibly high-scoring, so I’m really hoping our defense can tighten up. It feels somewhat like a playoff series—for example, I’ve experienced this kind of back-and-forth in a span of a few weeks. It’s definitely about trying out adjustments and counters.”

Towns’ girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, recently revealed on Instagram that he restored a car that belonged to her mother when she was younger, shipped it across the country, and presented it to her as a birthday gift for her 30th on Saturday.

Woods mentioned Towns expressed his “love” for the vehicle.

“She’s truly remarkable,” Towns said. “I’m still in disbelief over it. It’s incredibly fun, and I can’t wait to take it for a spin.”

“I’m really taken aback by that car. It’s one of a kind! What else can I say? It held special meaning. I can’t wait to drive it more, even though navigating New York might be a challenge with it.”

As for injury updates, Miles McBride is uncertain for Monday’s game due to personal matters, while Heat players Bam Adebayo (left big toe sprain) and Tyler Herro (recovering from left ankle surgery) are set to return.
