‘How in the Hell Did This Happen?!’

Never one to hold back, legendary college football coach Lou Holtz slammed the Secret Service and its leadership following the assassination attempt on former President Trump over the weekend.

On Saturday, suspect Thomas Matthew Crooks attempted to assassinate President Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, wounding him above his right ear. Crooks was later shot and killed by a Secret Service sniper.

In a conversation with Outkick’s Dan Dakich, Holtz slammed the Secret Service and its leadership for their incompetence.

“How on earth could that have happened?” Holtz Shot back When Dakich asked him about the shooting that nearly took President Trump’s life.

“Something[シークレットサービス]There must have been a mistake… Think about it. He was shot and only by the grace of God did he escape death, but do you know what went wrong?[シークレットサービス/法執行機関]Who’s running the SecretService/LawEnforcement asylum?!” Holtza sked. “Consider this–he was shot and only by the Grace of God was not killed but do you know what kind of screw-up happened? Who’s running the SecretService/LawEnforcement asylum?!” [SecretService[mistake…Considerthis–hewasshotandonlybytheGraceofGodwashenotkilledbutdoyouknowwhatkindofscrew-uphappened?Who’srunning[theSecretService/LawEnforcement[asylum?!”Holtzasked

As for the conspiracy theory, Holtz doesn’t believe it.

“If he had done it on purpose, he couldn’t have messed it up more in the world.”

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle drew criticism on Tuesday when she said agents were not stationed on the roof of the building where Crooks was shot because it had a “sloping roof.”

“That building in particular has a sloped roof on the highest part of the building,” Cheatle said, “so, you know, for safety reasons, you don’t want people on a sloped roof, so the decision was made to protect the building from the inside.”

Holtz spoke about the difficulty of verifying the truth when so much misinformation is spread by the media.

“The media can’t be trusted. Everybody has their own agenda and they’re trying to push it. I don’t care about being politically correct, I only care about being correct, which is so much more important and I don’t think we feel that way anymore,” Holtz told Dakich.

Cheatle has not yet been disciplined or fired for his role in protecting Trump in the run-up to the assassination attempt.
