While Kamala Harris stuck to interviews with outdated mainstream media, Donald Trump ventured into alternative media such as podcasts and Twitch, which many Americans appreciated.
Gates Garcia, president and CEO of Pine Hill Capital Management, is one of them.
“He spoke to me,” Garcia told Jill Savage and Matthew Peterson of “Blaze News Tonight.” “When I say 'I', I don't mean that fancy title you just read. It's not as fancy as it seems. I mean, I'm sitting on my couch and I'm trying to figure out who I am as a person. I am an ordinary man. ”
“With linear broadcast TV, it's like being talked to, and with podcasts and alternative platforms and networks like Blaze, you can be a part of the conversation,” he continues. “It feels like they're speaking to you on a personal level. It can humanize the person.”
“When you look at all the demographics that tilted in Trump's direction, I think that's a direct result of him actually speaking directly to those people,” he added.
Historically, the left has dominated the media and all cultural institutions, but Garcia believes that is about to change forever.
“I think we're in the early stages of a complete takeover of the media. I mean, right-wing, conservative movements are taking over the institutions. I think we're probably still in the early stages, but something like this… “It's been going on for a while. I think more than half the country electing Donald Trump means they either don't watch or don't believe in the mainstream media,” he explains.
And Garcia isn't the only one seeing it. After President Trump's landslide victory, Elon Musk posted on X: “You are now the media.”
“We the people have been given control, and now it is owned in a sense by the people because we can pick and choose what we want to consume,” Garcia explained. , further added: The great thing is that we're building something linear. They have brought themselves down. ”
