Christian McCaffrey isn’t the only athlete in his family.
The San Francisco 49ers running back comes from an athletic family where his parents and older brothers all played high-level sports. McCaffrey’s two younger brothers also play football.

After playing football at Stanford University, he was drafted by the New York Giants in 1991 and won three Super Bowls during his time in the league.
During Ed’s 13 years in the NFL, he also played for the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos.

Christian spoke about his experience following in his father’s footsteps in a 2023 interview with NBC Sports.
“I grew up as Ed’s kid, and we’ve always been Ed’s sons. So in a way, that was an advantage for us because we were already able to experience that a little bit.” he told the outlet in 2023. I think myself and my three brothers all wanted to branch out and make a name for ourselves. ”

According to the Chicago Tribune, Ed married his wife Lisa on April 4, 1992 after just a few months of dating.

Lisa McCaffrey was also a talented athlete who played on the Stanford University soccer team.
She currently co-hosts a podcast called “Your Mom” with Ashley Adamson.
All four of Lisa’s children have continued to play sports, and she talked about the importance of them doing what they love.
In 2015, she told the Denver Post, “You never know if they’re talented or not, but I want them to be involved in what they love, whether it’s books or music. If so, that’s also a good thing.”
Max McCaffrey
The eldest of the McCaffrey brothers is Max.

According to Sportskeeda, Max was born in 1994 and joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2016, signing with the Oakland Raiders as a wide receiver.
Throughout most of his career, he was a member of the practice squads of the Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints, Jacksonville Jaguars, and San Francisco 49ers..

In 2023, McCaffrey returned to the NFL after coaching in college. He currently coaches the Miami Dolphins as an offensive assistant.

Born in 1999, Dylan played quarterback at the University of Michigan before transferring to Northern Colorado.

McCaffrey’s youngest brother Luke was born in 2001.

Like all his brothers, Luke is also a football player.
He first started his college career at the University of Nebraska, where he played quarterback. Soon after, he transferred to Rice University.
He continued to play quarterback during his early years at Rice, but switched to wide receiver in 2022.

In March 2024, Luke was a member of the NFL Scouting Combine, where he slightly beat Christian’s time in the 40-yard dash.
Luke ran the 40-yard dash in 4.47 seconds, while Christian ran 4.48 seconds in 2017, according to NBC Sports Bay Area.
