How Mark Davis reacted after Raiders lost control of No. 1 NFL Draft pick

Raiders owner Mark Davis apparently hasn't lost any sleep after Las Vegas wasted the No. 1 pick on Sunday.

Davis was reportedly in a “good mood” after the team's 19-14 home win over the Jaguars, where he was seen clapping and chatting with players in the locker room where the team won. The Athletic reported.

With the win, Las Vegas drops from the No. 1 pick to the No. 6 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

“He doesn't seem to care that a win against the Jacks will affect his draft order,” The Athletic reported of Davis' attitude.

The Raiders entered the day tied for the worst record in the NFL with the Giants, but held the tiebreaker due to an easier schedule.

The Giants showed they were prepared to lose without a fight with a 34-7 loss to the Falcons at 1 p.m. That meant the Raiders had to lose to the lowly Jaguars to stay in the standings.

It turned out that the Jaguars were the better team on this day. Amir Abdullah scored the winning touchdown for the Raiders with 11:26 left in the game, putting Las Vegas up 3-12.

Currently, the Raiders are behind the Giants (2-13), Patriots (3-12), Jaguars (3-12), Titans (3-12), and Browns in exchange for being able to draft any player they want. (3-12)

Raiders coach Antonio Pierce, like Davis, didn't seem concerned.

“Talk to (general manager) Tom Telesco,” Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce said when asked about fans' concerns about how the win affected the draft.

Time will tell if this loss will haunt the Raiders for years to come, but NFL history is full of teams that won meaningless games at the end of the season and then changed long-standing franchises.

The Giants won some meaningless games at the end of last season with coach Tommy DeVito at the helm, but ultimately left quarterbacks Jaden Daniels and Drake Maye undrafted. .

If neither player is taken in last year's draft, the Giants would be forced to select a quarterback (probably Shedule Sanders or Cam Ward) with the No. 1 pick in what is expected to be a down year for signal-callers. There is a possibility that

The Raiders have one more winnable game coming up in New Orleans in Week 17, then finish the season at home against the Chargers.
