Tech billionaire Elon Musk is scheduled to interview former President Donald Trump on his social platform X on Monday night, the former president’s latest attempt to gain attention in his fierce election race against Vice President Harris.
This could seemingly mark a return to X for the former president, who has since posted on the platform.
The platform, then known as Twitter, played a major role in Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and presidency overall.
Harris’ return comes at a time when she has been gaining momentum in the presidential race since President Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed Harris.
The live interview will begin at 8 p.m. EDT and will be hosted by Trump’s official X account, @realDonaldTrump. X Spaceis a feature that allows users of the platform to host live audio conversations.
“Live conversations” will be “unscripted and with no restrictions on topics.” Musk wrote on Sunday.“It should be a lot of fun,” he added. He encouraged users to post specific questions or comments in the stream’s chat.
The Trump campaign said it would be “the interview of the century.”
mask I posted some “system scaling tests” The conversation comes ahead of Monday night’s expected large audience.
Trump returned to the X platform for the first time in about a year and posted a campaign ad just hours before the interview. It was his second time posting on X since his account was suspended following the January 6, 2021, riots at the Capitol, then reinstated the following year.
Just over an hour later, President Trump took to Twitter again, lamenting the state of the country’s economy.
“Are you happier now than when I was president?” He wroteOur economy is collapsing, our borders are disappearing, and our nation is in decline. Let’s make the American Dream affordable again. Let’s make America safe again. Let’s make America great again!”
Musk’s reinstatement of Trump’s account in 2022 was part of the tech billionaire’s new approach to the platform’s content moderation policies after acquiring the company.
The tech mogul endorsed Trump’s reelection shortly after last month’s assassination attempt and has since launched a series of attacks against Harris.
