A professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine says there are significant benefits to introducing white noise around bedtime. he told HuffPost.
“The main characteristic of sound devices is that the sound is constant, as opposed to changing like in music, radio, and television,” said David Neubauer, associate professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences. says Dr.
“Our brains pay attention to changes in sound, but comfortable, constant sounds can help us fall asleep.”
He also says that white noise provides “a cocoon of sound that may provide a sense of relief,” and “blocks out other sudden noises that might wake us up in the complete silence of the night.” He also said that it is possible to do so.
Calming sounds are available on iPhones and iPhone 6S and newer, at least with the iOS 15 update, according to HuffPost.
