The self-proclaimed “King of All Media” has a specific rule when it comes to attending Knicks games.
Howard Stern insists on having a front-row seat. If he doesn’t have that, he simply won’t go.
While he isn’t a huge sports enthusiast overall, he definitely has a soft spot for the Knicks. He stayed until around 8 PM to catch the first half of Game 4 on Monday.
However, the 71-year-old Stern emphasized that if he can’t score a courtside ticket, he won’t be at the game at all.
On his show, he discussed how celebrity seating at Madison Square Garden reflects their status within the entertainment world.
“You can really tell your position in show business based on where you’re seated at Knicks games. The day I find myself in the second row, that’s it for me. That’s a hard line for me,” Stern stated. “I know exactly where they place me. It matters a lot. If I get told I’m not in the first row, I’ll just turn around and leave. That would be embarrassing.”
Currently, the Knicks are just one win away from the Eastern Conference Finals, something they haven’t done since 2000.

After this, a shot at the NBA Finals could be on the horizon.
Stern mentioned he would like to attend the finals, but he has no intention of reaching out for tickets.
“I’m interested in it, but I’m not going to push. I feel self-conscious about it,” Stern said. “I’m waiting for them to invite me. I don’t want to be that guy trying to capitalize on the situation, especially with everyone else wanting to be there for the finals. Last time the Knicks had a big moment, I don’t want to feel guilty for attending.”
Game 6 between the Knicks and the Pacers takes place at Madison Square Garden this Friday night.
