Universities as Indoctrination Centers
Across the United States, there’s a growing concern that universities are being used as platforms for extreme ideologies aimed at influencing young people. One illustrative case involves a professor at Howard University.
Stacey Patton, who teaches media and communication, has made headlines for her controversial views. A host from Blaze TV, Sarah Gonzalez, remarked on this, saying, “When you see a PhD next to her name, it’s like a badge of craziness.” Patton has been accused of encouraging her supporters to mimic the actions of a historical figure known for violence.
In a recent blog post, Patton expressed admiration for John Brown, a radical abolitionist who led violent uprisings before the Civil War. She posed a provocative question to her “white allies,” asking what they could be willing to destroy for the sake of change.
Brown, famous for his role in the Pottawatomie Massacre, killed several people in Kansas and, after being arrested, was executed for treason. Gonzalez criticized Patton’s reverence for such a figure, arguing that he instigated violence to ignite a race conflict. “This is the person she is calling on progressives to emulate,” Gonzalez pointed out.
Currently, left-leaning groups are distributing flyers on college campuses promoting the “John Brown Club,” with slogans attacking perceived oppression. Gonzalez mentioned that some members of this group have been linked to violent acts carried out under the banner of the John Brown Gun Club.
She went on to say, “This professor, whether she wants to acknowledge it or not, is praising the very violence occurring in our streets. She recognizes she can sway the next generation, and she’s essentially pushing them towards potential criminality.” Gonzalez concluded by asserting that such educators are no longer merely teaching; they’re fostering a radical mindset.
