HSBC Private Bank strengthens roster across Asia
HSBC’s Private Banking division has unveiled several new leadership roles throughout Asia, particularly focusing on its operations in India and China.
Newly appointed officials include Fanindar Babaraju and Rangan Krishnan, both joining as senior relationship managers in the global India team. They will report to Manoj Rama Rao, the Senior Desk Head for Global India, based in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Babaraju brings over 28 years of comprehensive experience in areas like foreign exchange, rates, derivatives, precious metals, private banking, and structured finance. He previously spent nine years as Chief Investment Officer at DIFC’s external asset management firms, including Jupiter Wealth Advisors and Arrow Capital. Additionally, he led investment activities at O3 Capital in India and held various private banking positions at RBS and Credit Suisse for nine years.
Meanwhile, Krishnan has more than 31 years in wealth management and, most recently, had a nine-year tenure with Bank of Singapore, where he managed portfolios for ultra-high net worth clients and family offices. His previous experience includes roles at ANZ, Credit Suisse, ABN AMRO Bank, and DSP BlackRock Mutual Funds.
Recently, Alex Liu has assumed the role of head of the China offshore market, overseeing operations expanding from Hong Kong to Singapore, with a base in Hong Kong. Also appointed is Kanas Chan, Heading North Asia and Hong Kong.
Furthermore, HSBC Private Bank has designated Dawn Fung as the head of wealth planning in Southeast Asia and Ann Lin as the Regional Head of Wealth Planning and Advisory for Asia Pacific. Additionally, Tommy Leon is now heading the Private Bank in South Asia.
Fung has 25 years in the banking and trust arena, with over 22 years at HSBC, and is a member of the Southeast Asia Private Banking Leadership Team.
In Thailand, William Fock has been appointed as the country head of the private bank, based in Bangkok, alongside Benjamin Wang overseeing the Thai and Vietnamese desks. Fock has over 20 years of expertise in structured products and investment advisory, previously serving as a senior investment counselor at LGT before returning to HSBC after nearly five years. Earlier, he also held roles at Julius Baer and Morgan Stanley.
