Hundreds in Gaza take to streets to protest Hamas

Hundreds of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip took them to the streets Tuesday to launch a rare protest against the Palestinian extremist group Hamas.

Videos shared on Tuesday on various social media platforms show Hamas marching through the city of Beitrahia, a northern Gaza city near the Israeli border, chanting that Hamas left Gaza and calling the group a terrorist organization. The hill does not independently verify the video.

“Out, Out, Hamas Out” recited a crowd consisting mainly of young men.

The protests that also took place in the southern Gaza city of Khan Eunice appear to be the biggest demonstration against Hamas since the terrorist attacks by extremist groups on Israel on October 7, killing 1,200 Israelis and taking 250 hostages. The attack on October 7th ignited a 17-month war. According to Hamasran Health Ministry, the Israeli attack killed around 50,000 Palestinians in Gaza. This tally does not distinguish between combatants and civilians.

Supporters of Hamas in Gaza have denied the scope of the demonstrations, accusing the protesters of being traitors.

The protest came as Israel said it had suspended all aid flowing to Gaza earlier this month.

UN Relief and Labor Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) I said That means that over the weekend, there was no food, water, fuel or medicine in Gaza in three weeks.

Passing daily without aid invasion means that more children will become hungry, disease spread, and deprivation will become deeper.

The Jewish state accused Hamas of refusing US fresh proposals to resume military operations in war-torn enclaves after about two months of ceasefire, and rejecting Hamas' fresh US proposal to expand the halt of hostilities, but Palestinian extremist groups claimed Israel was hit by the first deal in January.

Gaza has been under Hamas' full control since 2007. The extremist group won the 2006 election and vehemently expelled the troops loyal to Fatah a year later.
