Police swarmed the area to try to contain the protests, the latest in the Big Apple since the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attack on Israel and the subsequent counterattack by the Jewish state in the Gaza Strip.

Photos posted on social media showed large crowds invading the span.

“A lot of people have already crossed over,” one protester on the bridge told the Post. “They started arresting people here.”

It was not immediately clear how many people have been arrested so far.

Meanwhile, police in riot gear blocked a bridge to keep protesters away from City Hall.

Loud pro-Palestinian protests have rocked the city in recent months, with demonstrators disrupting holiday festivities in Midtown and converging on Big Apple landmarks.
