Hungary has said it will bus illegal migrants to the EU capital, Brussels, if the EU tries to force Budapest to accept asylum seekers who allegedly have crossed into other EU countries.
In a move reminiscent of Texas Governor Greg Abbott's plan to send illegal immigrants to liberal-run cities across the United States, Hungary's Deputy Minister of the Interior, Bence Letvári, has promised migrants one-way tickets to Brussels.

“The mayor of Brussels responded to this proposal in a way that would upend the daily life of Brussels residents, and Hungary is defending its southern border to ensure that the daily life of Hungarians is not upended,” he added.

Letovály noted that while other EU countries have left their borders open to waves of illegal migration, Hungary has been working hard to prevent illegal crossings, including by building a fence on its southern border.
Letvári said Budapest was seeking to countersue the EU for services provided to police the EU's borders because the border wall had not only protected Hungary but the entire EU from further illegal immigration. He argued that since 2015, Hungary had prevented around one million illegal immigrants from entering the country.
“It is outrageous that the European Union does not recognise Hungary's activities, does not offer financial compensation and instead attacks them,” he said.
Speaking at the Cernobbio Forum in Italy earlier this week, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said: Warned If Brussels were to force countries like itself to adopt the pro-mass immigration policies favoured by Western elites, it could lead to the collapse of the entire EU.
