Hunter Biden: Clooney considered withdrawing from LA fundraiser after expressing anger at the White House

Hunter Biden’s Claims About George Clooney

On Monday, Hunter Biden alleged that actor George Clooney had threatened to back out of a fundraising event in Los Angeles last summer.

This assertion emerged during an interview on Andrew Callahan’s web series, Channel 5. In this discussion, Hunter Biden voiced criticisms against Clooney and other Democrats who openly condemned the former president following a contentious debate about President Trump.

According to Hunter, Clooney had been upset with White House staff prior to the LA fundraiser. A report indicated that Clooney had expressed dissatisfaction with the administration concerning the president’s remarks about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s arrest warrant.

Biden suggested that Clooney’s frustrations were connected to his wife, Amal Clooney, who is a prominent human rights attorney. Amal was one of the legal experts advocating for action from the International Criminal Court regarding Netanyahu’s actions in Gaza.

Additionally, it was reported that Clooney had contacted one of Biden’s close advisors, Steve Richetti, to express his grievances, specifically about what the president labeled “outrageous.”

Hunter Biden remarked, “He was complaining to the White House staff… he was really mad that the president criticized those arrest warrants against Netanyahu.”

As the 2024 campaign heated up, Biden claimed that Clooney even threatened to pull out from major fundraising efforts.

“I saw the text message he wrote, and I receive messages like, ‘How he’s going to do that,’” Hunter Biden stated. “He embarrassed the President and kept threatening to withdraw his fundraiser.”

Clooney’s representatives did not provide an immediate comment on these claims.

Ultimately, Clooney did attend a fundraising event alongside Los Angeles’s former mayor and Jimmy Kimmel later on.

Interestingly, the Biden campaign’s $28 million marquee event unfolded under different circumstances. Clooney mentioned feeling surprised by Biden’s frail demeanor during the fundraiser. Not long after, he published an opinion piece in the New York Times urging the president to consider stepping back from the race.

His voice was one of the earliest calling for Biden to exit the campaign. The interview with Callahan also coincided with the anniversary of Biden’s withdrawal from the race.

Hunter spent more than three hours discussing Clooney and other critics of his father throughout the interview.

“George Clooney isn’t really an actor; he doesn’t know what he’s doing. He’s just a brand.”
