Hunter Biden Says Charlie Kirk's Assassination 'Just Benefited' MAGA

Hunter Biden’s Commentary on Charlie Kirk’s Assassination

On November 6, during an appearance on the “Wide Awake Podcast,” Hunter Biden stated that the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk on September 10 may have actually benefited former President Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement.

Some individuals on the left reportedly celebrated the assassination, as highlighted in a video compilation. Biden mentioned that while the reason behind Kirk’s assassination is unclear, it seems he was somehow caught up in a narrative fueled by MAGA’s “righteous indignation.”

Podcast host Joshua Rubin commented on the rarity of someone being assassinated primarily for their beliefs. However, Biden questioned whether Rubin could definitively say that Kirk’s beliefs were the cause of his death, suggesting it might be a narrative pushed by the right. Rubin admitted he couldn’t think of another reason for the attack, while Biden floated the idea that the perpetrator could have belonged to the far-right “Groyper” movement, implying a goal of instigating chaos.

Biden expressed uncertainty, stating, “He wasn’t necessarily shot for his beliefs… We don’t know if Charlie Kirk was shot because of his beliefs or by a disgruntled white man.” He noted that access to firearms and the circumstances surrounding the shooting seemed suspicious, sharing his disbelief over a suspect’s text confession to his transgender roommate.

Tyler Robinson, the suspect in the assassination, had a relationship with a transgender man named Lance Twiggs and had reportedly expressed feelings of exhaustion over Kirk’s “hatred” in a text message. Additionally, Biden addressed conspiracy theories linking Kirk’s assassination to supposed plots against Israel, asserting, “I don’t know why Charlie Kirk was shot, but it serves one group: MAGA.”

He noted that significant political violence is believed to come from “right-wing extremists,” though a piece in The Atlantic also pointed out a surge in left-wing violence since Trump entered politics. Their analysis of various attacks over decades indicated that violence from the left has outpaced that from the right, and this year is set to be particularly violent for leftist factions.
