Hunter Biden was “angry” and “had a short temper,” his ex-wife, Kathleen Buhl, testified at his gun trial on Wednesday.
Hunter is charged with one count of making a false statement regarding the purchase of a firearm, one count of possession of a firearm by an unlawful user or addict of a controlled substance, and one count of making a false statement regarding information required to be kept by a federally licensed firearms dealer.
Hunter was using crack cocaine when he bought the gun, according to many of the photos he left on his abandoned laptop. The gun was found discarded in a public trash can next to the school. The Secret Service is reportedly involved in the investigation.

Buhle was married to Hunter from 1993 to 2017, years when the Biden family’s businesses made millions of dollars. The gun incident occurred in 2018.
Buhle testified under subpoena, according to CNN. Her testimony lasted just 15 minutes.
Buhle told jurors that he regularly found drugs and paraphernalia in the defendant’s car in 2018. “Whenever the girls would use the defendant’s car … they would check it to make sure there were no drugs in it,” Buhle said. SaidAccording to a court reporter.
“He was angry and had a short temper,” she said. “I found a crack pipe on an ashtray on the porch next to the house.”
Buhle said he was “concerned” and “fearful” that Hunter might be using drugs after he retired from the Navy in 2014.
NBC News report Regarding Buhle’s testimony:
At times, she found broken pipes, pipe cleaners, white powder, white crystal debris, and other drug paraphernalia. She also searched Biden’s car for drugs when he left it for his daughters to use because she did not want them to drive a car with drugs in it.
She also testified that her husband continued to work and socialize with family and friends while using drugs. Wise specifically asked whether Buhl had observed Biden “functioning” while using drugs, in what seemed to be a callback to Lowell’s comments yesterday that there is no such thing as a “high-functioning crack addict.”
Buhle was the second witness of the day after the first, FBI Agent Erica Jensen, told jurors in Hunter Biden’s gun trial that Hunter Biden’s laptop had not been tampered with and also confirmed that Hunter’s laptop was authentic.
The third person to take the stand was Zoe Kestan (Witness 2), who was in a relationship with Hunter from 2017 to 2018, CNN reported.
During their relationship, Witness 2 allegedly witnessed Biden using crack cocaine frequently, every 20 minutes except when he was sleeping, according to the court brief.
She visited Biden in Massachusetts, where he was in rehab after purchasing the gun at the center of the trial in the fall of 2018. Over a three-day period, she witnessed Biden smoking crack cocaine every 20 minutes, the report said.
This incident United States v. Hunter Biden, Case No. 24-1703 in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
