Hurricane Helene forces Broncos to practice on indoor tennis courts in West Virginia resort

The Denver Broncos have opted to remain on the right side of the country as they play back-to-back games on the East Coast.

However, Hurricane Helen was hitting the area, and they were right in the storm's path.

The team is staying at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia, which has two grass fields and an outdoor grass field.

Of course, the storm made it impossible to practice outdoors, but with about 48 hours until the game against the New York Jets, they had to improvise.

As a result, the team was forced to practice on indoor tennis courts.

“Everything fell into place…We got the job done,” Broncos coach Sean Payton said. “…This change was made based on the lightning forecast.”

More injuries to star rushers add to Cowboys' already weakened defense

Wide receiver Josh Reynolds said he has practiced on basketball courts and ballrooms in the past, but “this is the first time I've practiced on a tennis court.”

Denver is coming off an impressive win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, their first of the season after losing the first two games.

The storm also affected other leagues. Two games between the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets have been postponed to Monday's doubleheader that could decide who advances to the postseason. Saturday's game between Appalachian State and Liberty was also canceled, and preseason NHL games were also postponed.
