The husband of a Canadian immigrant, who was arrested by ICE for allegedly striking a patriotic teenager at a Jersey Shore boardwalk, has shared some troubling online posts. In these, he mocked the assassination of a public figure and issued threats to local law enforcement.
Matthew Geroni, in a video from June 17 that garnered attention, unleashed a tirade against local officials about issues like Ocean Grove’s gentrification and various local laws. He has a substantial following of over 142,000 on social media.
In one TikTok post, Geroni, 42, ominously warned local politicians, stating, “If you work for local government, remember we know where you live.”
This rant came not long after his wife’s outburst, which the Department of Homeland Security labeled the “Maple Leaf Threat.” She was filmed during a confrontation where she hit the teenager, who was wearing a “USA 250” tank top, multiple times before leaving the scene.
Geroni had previously made headlines for a shocking video where he expressed a wish for harm to come to President Trump and his family. He also shared footage celebrating the murder of public figure Charlie Kirk, reflecting a troubling mindset.
In one video, Geroni appeared in a pink sweatshirt and expressed joy over Kirk’s demise, stating “The world is a brighter place now that he’s gone. I say, ‘Ha ha ha.’” He also wore Joker-like makeup in another clip, attempting to justify his behavior.
His wife, Caitlin Tracy, 33, is currently being held at Delaney Hall Immigration Detention Center in Newark following the incident on July 3. She was filmed delivering rapid strikes to the teenager.
DHS has indicated that Tracy overstayed her visa after arriving in 2024 and is expected to be deported soon. They emphasized in a statement that her presence in the U.S. is not warranted.
The couple had moved to Houston in October 2024 before relocating to New Jersey a couple of months later. Geroni mentioned in a Facebook post that he left his job at a local smoke shop in 2021 to focus on content creation, hinting at both past successes and current financial struggles, as he sought support through donations to his Patreon account.
