As the search continues for missing Texas mother-of-four Suzanne Simpson, an attorney representing her husband, Brad Simpson, says the charges against her are “ridiculous.”
Luxury real estate agent Suzanne Simpson, 51, has been missing for more than two weeks. She went missing Oct. 6 after an argument with her husband of 22 years at Olmos Park in the San Antonio area.
Brad Simpson's public defender, Stephen Gilmore, said he is in administrative isolation and is kept in solitary confinement for at least 23 hours a day. The San Antonio Express-News reported.

Gilmore told the outlet that Brad Simpson plans to plead not guilty. Gilmore called the case against Simpson “a play to neutralize him, to keep him in custody.”
On Sunday night, Oct. 6, there was a “disturbance” between Simpsons at the Argyle club in the San Antonio area, Olmos Park Police Chief Fidel Villegas said at an earlier news conference.
A neighbor told police he saw Brad and Suzanne get into a physical fight that night and then heard screams coming from a nearby wooded area, according to an arrest affidavit.
The neighbor observed that “Ms. Simpson was trying to escape from his grasp as he attempted to pull her down,” the report continued. About an hour later, a neighbor saw Brad Simpson's black GMC pickup drive away and return an hour or two later.
Gilmore told the San Antonio Express-News she doesn't trust her neighbors.
“That doesn’t make sense,” he said. “If he was invested enough to get out of his house with a flashlight and follow them into the woods, he would be invested enough to then call the police, but he… They don't. And they don't just do that. Once the public knows that Suzanne is missing, they don't call the police, they don't even talk to them. Police will not receive a statement from him.”

Brad Simpson, 53, is being held in the Bexar County Jail on bail totaling $2 million on charges of assault causing bodily harm, family violence and unlawful restraint for an Oct. 6 incident with his wife. .
“It's ridiculous that he's being held on $2 million bail in a misdemeanor case that the state knows it can't prove and won't try to prove,” Gilmore told the San Antonio newspaper. “They're not even going to file these lawsuits. And they don't want to file these lawsuits because if they file these lawsuits, all of his rights are triggered. These We cannot sue unless a lawsuit is filed.'' We call for a speedy trial. ”
Ted Williams, an attorney and former homicide detective, previously told FOX News Digital, “$2 million for a misdemeanor is something that's rarely, rarely done. Because they are trying to keep him in prison,” he said. They discover it while conducting a recovery operation. ”
Police tried to question Brad, but he was “uncooperative,” Villegas said.
Suzanne's brother-in-law, Barton Simpson, said in a Facebook post: “Brad's refusal to cooperate is unacceptable.”

“Typically, people who are not involved in criminal activity will voluntarily come to law enforcement,” Williams previously told FOX News Digital. “But if he feels that law enforcement specifically suspects that he is involved in criminal activity, such as that his wife, Suzanne Simpson, is involved in some kind of wrongdoing, then of course “But he's not going to talk to them, whether he has a lawyer or not.” ”
Gilmore told San Antonio Broadcasting that Brad Simpson was trying to cooperate with Olmos Park police and that he was the first to report his wife missing. He said Brad Simpson agreed to speak with Villegas, but the director postponed the appointment three times.
The federal detainer who held Brad Simpson on gun charges by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is keeping him behind bars. The federal charge is unlawful possession of a firearm, according to an affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital.
Investigators searched Simpson's home in Olmos Park on Oct. 9 after executing a search warrant related to his wife's disappearance, according to documents. On October 10, a family member notified law enforcement officials that Mr. Simpson was in possession of multiple firearms and was attempting to surrender them.
Records show family members recovered several firearms from a locked room in Simpson's home and transported the firearms to the Olmos Park Police Department.

Possessing a short-barreled rifle that is not federally registered is illegal, and Simpson faces up to 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine, according to the affidavit.
Gilmore told the San Antonio Express-News that he has receipts showing that Simpson legally purchased and registered the gun in question. The newspaper said authorities filed the federal charges to prevent Simpson from being released if he posts bail on the state charges.
Gilmore could not be reached for comment.
