Husband of missing woman from the Bahamas seeks U.S. attorney during investigation

Woman from the U.S. lost in the Bahamas after her husband reports she went overboard.

The husband of an American woman who went missing in the Bahamas has sought legal representation in the U.S., as reported. Brian Hooker has engaged Michigan attorney Crystal Marie Hauser after returning to the States last week. His lawyer, who is based in the Bahamas, mentioned that Hooker had to come back to care for his mother, who is reportedly ill.

According to Hooker, his wife, Lynette, fell from their dinghy while holding the ignition key after they left Hopetoun beach around 7:30 PM on April 4. Local authorities noted that he reached Marsh Harbor marina at about 4 AM the following day, roughly eight hours after her fall.

In light of Lynette’s disappearance, Hauser shared a message for the public. She urged people to treat Hooker with compassion, suggesting that reactions to crises can differ greatly among individuals.

Hauser also stated that the allegations of domestic violence made by Lynette’s mother and daughter are unfounded. She emphasized that despite the claims, there is no supporting evidence.

She speculated about Hooker’s emotional ties to the Bahamas but did not comment on whether he intends to return there.

Criminal defense attorney Donna Rotunno remarked that Hooker’s decision to hire a lawyer was wise, even though his wife’s body has not been found and no charges have been laid against him. “It’s smart to have legal support in these situations,” she said.

Brian has not been charged with any crime and was released by Bahamian officials, although the investigation into Lynette’s disappearance is ongoing. He expressed his heartbreak over the situation in a recent Facebook post, emphasizing the struggle they faced in trying to reach her after she fell from the dinghy.

Lynette’s daughter, Carly Aylesworth, has flown to the Bahamas to help with the search, and she has expressed skepticism regarding her mother’s disappearance, suggesting it might not have been accidental. Aylesworth relayed that she spent three hours talking to the police about her suspicions, implying that something seems off about the whole incident.
