Eric Richens, a Utah man who was allegedly poisoned to death by his wife in 2022, had her drugs in his system when he died, according to a recently unsealed search warrant.
Kuri Richins, 33, was charged with aggravated murder after allegedly killing her husband of nine years, Eric, with whom they have three children, with illegal fentanyl on March 3, 2022, at their home in Camas, Utah. He was charged with three counts of drug possession.
“Eric's stomach contents also contained a small amount of quetiapine,” Summit County detectives wrote in one of the warrants unsealed Thursday. “Eric did not have a prescription for quetiapine, but his wife had a prescription and pills at her home.”
Kuri Richens told authorities the quetiapine pills were for sleeping, but the coroner told police the pills were used as an antipsychotic, the warrant states.
