I am a mother of four and am forever plagued by the loss of my eldest son Weston. Weston was 15 years old when a fentanyl-layer pill poisoned him in 2022.
My son was not an addict. He was a vibrant, active teenager with a big heart. He attended church twice a week, played soccer and hockey, surfed in the Pacific Ocean, and gave laughs that could light up the room.
I tried to be the best mother I could. I cheered him in his game, cooked family dinners, volunteered at school, but not enough to save him from the poison that ripped our country.
Due to the bad border policies of the previous administration, our children can no longer learn from their mistakes. Now they die from them.
Weston's death was not an overdose. It was addictive. Like many teenagers, he thought it was safe and wanted to make one mistake: take medicine from a friend. 1 tablet. One mistake. It was everything it took to us to steal his future and steal my son from our family.
I represent a border area overwhelmed by illegal immigration. What I'm looking at now may surprise you
Due to the bad border policies of the previous administration, our children can no longer learn from their mistakes. Now they die from them.
I have opened the borders that will hold Joe Biden and all the Democrats I defend, responsible for the death of my son. Each one!
When Biden took office in 2021, we were living in Southern California and he had wide open doors to our country. Our borders became a chaotic highway as cartels, traffickers and fentanyl poured in. I never imagined that one day I would take my son from me. It never happened in my home. That's what you only saw on the news.

But the policies of Biden and his “border emperor” Kamala Harris have turned their eyes on the poison that floods our streets. They allowed this and families like me paid for their reckless policies.
Mexico breaks international law with cartels, Americans suffer from consequences
Illegal fentanyl is now the main cause of death among Americans aged 18-45, and is responsible for nearly 70% of the 110,000 “overdose” deaths seen annually in the country. One tablet… only one tablet can end your life. Weston's death is proof of this.
It's not about addiction. It is extremely deadly, addictive and inevitable. And where does it come from? Mexican, cartels have not been checked. Canada's Fentanyl Labs are appearing under LAX surveillance. And China ships chemicals that fuel this nightmare. These countries have done nothing for a long time while our children were dying.
That's why I am very grateful to President Donald Trump. He takes the fentanyl crisis seriously. I want to see Weston when he was still alive. President Trump is taking responsibility for implementing tariffs on imports from Canada, Mexico and China to ensure that this poison flows freely to our country.
He's not just talking about the issue. President Trump is hitting these countries in painful places. It's in their wallets. The president didn't think they did enough, and I wasn't. Canada allows labs to grow. China is flooded with precursors. Enough is enough!
Four tough questions for the four “sanctuary city” mayors
These tariffs are brave wake-up calls to enforce accountability. They say to our neighbors and trading partners. Stop the medicine or pay the price.
Some critics complain about the costs of these tariffs, but I think how much does a child cost in life? What value do you place on my children and the hundreds of thousands who lost their lives in American soil under the last administration?
I pay anything to get Weston back, and President Trump understands that. He is a father and a fighter, and uses American economic muscles to protect families like me. This is not about politics. It's about survival.
I think about my Weston every day. He must be 18 now. He plans his future, his college path, what he wants to major and not give back to the name of the gravestone. Biden's open boundary puts this poison in it, but Trump's tariffs are a step towards keeping it out.

It's too late for your son, but it's not too late for your son. The fentanyl crisis took too many doses. The poison that makes hundreds of thousands of American lives stolen by illegal drugs and seems unstoppable.
President Trump shows he wants to try something different, tough. For that reason, I say: Thank you, President, thank you. Keep fighting!
