More than 2,000 people reacted to the drama, which the mother of teenage triplets shared on social media, with more than 1,000 posting individual comments.
She wrote that she is currently a single mother of 15-year-old triplets (she did not specify her location).
She said that for a wonderful 16th birthday, girls “want a big party with a DJ, a venue, and lots of invites,” and posted a post on her Reddit page known as “AITA” with “Perfect_Phone9777 ” he wrote. ).
She said that for each of her children’s birthdays, she “always” gives them $150 to go out to dinner with friends and “go to different restaurants.”
But this year, the mother added, the kind of explosive parties the teens are looking for aren’t in her budget.
“The venue costs about $500. If you include all the extra costs like decorations, DJ, invitations, food, etc., it’s about $1,200 to $1,400. This is the cheapest we can do.”
The mother continued, “They can afford one party, but they want to do three separate parties. That would cost over $4,000.”
“I can’t afford to spend $4,000 on a birthday party, so I turned it down,” she said.
She asked the others on stage if they had made a mistake by “letting my daughters have a birthday party together.”
