Rep. Jasmine Crockett Addresses EPA Administrator Accusations
On “The Weekend” program on MS NOW, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) defended her statements regarding EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, insisting there was “no correction” to her claim that he received funds from Jeffrey Epstein.
Co-host Jacqueline Alemany challenged her, saying, “You made headlines by wrongly accusing Republican Lee Zeldin.”
“I wasn’t wrong,” Crockett responded firmly.
Alemany pressed on, clarifying that while Crockett alleged Zeldin received money from Epstein, financial records indicated it was a different Jeffrey Epstein. She offered Crockett a chance to amend her statement.
“There’s no need to amend. When I was on the floor—just to explain—the motion was tabled, and they decided to remove Stacey Plaskett from the committee due to her donations from Epstein. We had maybe a minute left and checked the FEC records. I mentioned that, yes, there is another guy named Jeffrey Epstein, but I didn’t have time to dig deeper. It’s clear this didn’t occur after Epstein’s death, especially since the situation Zeldin referred to was outside New York,” Crockett elaborated.
Alemany remarked, “You were implying it was the Jeffrey Epstein in question.”
Crockett admitted, “Oh, I did suggest it was a possibility, which is valid. However, I never stated it as a fact because there wasn’t enough time for a thorough explanation. This name isn’t exactly common, which added to the confusion. I realize I might have suggested something occurred that actually didn’t. In the end, the record was cleared with him saying, ‘I haven’t discussed this with that doctor in detail.’
Alemany concluded, “So we can agree that Lee Zeldin did not receive money from Jeffrey Epstein.”
Crockett acknowledged, “I can agree with Lee Zeldin when he says he didn’t receive any money from Epstein.”
