‘I don’t want to die!’ Horrific new details on slain fire captain who begged for her life; cops zero in on her runaway wife

New details are emerging regarding the stinging death of a California fire chief. Authorities have revealed that the victim's wife, the main murder suspect, may have escaped.

As reported earlier this week by Blaze News, 49-year-old Cal Fire captain Rebecca Malody was found dead at her Ramona home on February 17th at around 9pm.

“You should have thought about it before.”

According to Arrest letter Get with KABC-TVSan Diego County Sheriff's Office deputies found Malodi “has had several tears and obvious stab wounds on her body, including the neck area, chest and abdomen.”

Paramedics attempt to revive Malodi, but they are asserted that she is dead at the crime scene.

The mother of her beloved fire chief reportedly informed 53-year-old Yolanda Malodi that her daughter was planning to end the marriage a week ago.

The mother also provided researchers with footage of a ring security camera.

According to the arrest warrant, home surveillance video shows a woman suspected of being Yolanda Malodi “chasing” a woman who looks like Rebecca Malodi.

Police said they could hear Rebecca Malody screaming, “Yolanda! Please… I don't want to die!”

It was believed that the voice was said to be from Yolanda Malodi.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Office pointed out that Rebecca Malody had reappeared in the video, appearing to have blood on her back.

“Yolanda can be seen at some point in front of Rebecca and with what appears to be a knife on her right hand,” the report noted.

Yolanda Malodi reportedly had blood flowing in her arm on the video.

The fire chief who provided Cal Fire for four years and helped fight Eton Fire last month is said to be able to listen repeatedly to Yolanda Malodi to call 911.

Both women can be seen in the video entering the house. But Rebecca Malody is not seen in the video again.

About ten minutes later, Yolanda Malody “can sees collecting pets, random items and some luggage and loading them into a silver Chevrolet equinox SUV.”

Homeland Security reportedly found the vehicle across the border in Mexico with license plate 8BQJ420.

The San Diego Sheriff's Office said the incident was being treated as a “potential domestic violence incident.”

The couple reportedly were married for about two years.

KFMB-TV Yolanda Malodi reported that she was a former prisoner in San Bernardino County who went to prison for the death of her then-husband, James Orezinitzak.

With a creepy similarity, she reportedly let the police go before she tried to escape law enforcement with her two young children.

In January 2004, she pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter for stabbing her first spouse and was sentenced to 11 years in prison.

In October 2006, she pleaded guilty to felony possession of drugs in prison.

She was released from prison in December 2015.

Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact the San Diego Sheriff's Office murder unit at 858-285-6330 or 858-868-3200 at opening hours. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
