Legal Discrepancies in Diddy’s Pardon Discussion

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ main lawyer has called into question the assertions made by his legal team regarding efforts to seek a pardon from the Trump administration.

Recently, Combs was found guilty on two counts related to prostitution, while he was acquitted of charges related to sex trafficking and assault. Following his conviction, he was denied bail multiple times.

While Combs’ legal team indicated they had contacted President Trump’s office regarding a potential pardon, a few days later, Mark Agnifilo contradicted statements made by attorney Nicole Westmoreland. He asserted he had no knowledge of any pardon request.

“I have nothing to do with any possible pardon,” Agnifilo said during an interview. “I didn’t speak to anyone. I’ve never talked to the President, nor have I spoken to anyone who communicated with the President about Sean Combs.”

He went on to clarify he had not had discussions about a presidential pardon with Combs either.

Agnifilo mentioned, “He said, ‘Tell him. [Trump] that there is a need for pardon. Tell him I deserve amnesty.’ That’s what he said,” invoking Combs’ words.

This contradicts Westmoreland’s earlier statements to CNN, where she claimed the legal team had indeed reached out and discussed the possibility of a pardon.

Recently, Trump spoke to Newsmax, expressing uncertainty about whether he would consider offering a pardon to the music mogul.

“Well, he was essentially like I was half innocent,” Trump remarked regarding Diddy’s situation. “I was friendly with him; he seemed like a good person when we interacted. I didn’t know him well, but he was quite hostile when I took office.”

Trump seemed hesitant in his response about Diddy, implying he might not support a pardon, stating, “I’ll say that,” when asked about his likelihood of granting it.

In a different context, Agnifilo hinted at Combs’ potential return to the music industry, revealing plans for a comeback concert at Madison Square Garden when he is eventually free.
