On NBC’s “MTP Now” on Friday, Rep. James Clyburn, D-South Carolina, said Republicans want to tie 2024 Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris to President Joe Biden’s record.
“Do you think the last three years of her career, her time as vice president, will help or hurt her? I know you’re very proud of the record of the Biden administration, but I think Republicans will try to pin some of that record on her now,” host Garrett Haack asked.
Clyburn responded, “Well, I hope so, because I think the American people will look at the record of the Biden-Harris Administration and compare it to what’s proposed on the other side in Project 2025. I’m saying to people all over the place, look at Project 2025, whether it’s Social Security, Medicare, education, civil service, whatever your concern is, go to that 900-page section and see what’s proposed for your concern. What does it mean to abolish a department in this country, or a civil service, and put it in the hands of one person and have them follow the demands of that person and not the demands of the American people? Sounds a little bit like Woodrow Wilson to me, and that’s not how we want our government to work.”
