Trump Endorses Whatley for Senate Seat in North Carolina
Donald Trump has voiced his support for RNC Chairman Michael Whatley to take on the Senate seat in North Carolina.
“He’s tough on border issues, focused on reducing crime, supports our military and veterans, advocates for tax cuts, and stands firmly behind the Second Amendment. I truly believe he is the right person for Washington, and he needs your backing!”
In a recent statement, Trump highlighted Whatley’s accomplishments while emphasizing his local ties. He noted, “Whatley is a capable executive from North Carolina who has delivered results with the Republican National Committee. He’s been successful in past elections, including winning primaries six times consecutively. Since I took action following some difficult times in the state, thanks to ineffective leadership, Whatley has been instrumental in those efforts. We’ve accomplished quite a bit, which makes his candidacy for Senate all the more promising.”
Whatley is now preparing to challenge GOP Senator Thom Tillis, who has declared he will not seek reelection. Meanwhile, Lara Trump has opted out of the race.
According to recent reports from sources, Michael Whatley is officially set to enter the race for the Republican-held Senate seat in North Carolina, following Trump’s endorsement. This news comes on the heels of former Democratic Governor Roy Cooper announcing his intention to run for the same seat, with his campaign likely launching soon.
